New Year, New WIGI!

Dearest friends of WIGI,

How are you? No really, it’s been a while: How are you? It’s been a rough year all around. We truly hope you all are staying safe and healthy and living your best at-home lives.

Before the pandemic hit, we were so excited to bring you what was going to be our best event yet: we secured the Coin-Op Game Room, just moments away from GDC, and we had partnered with some fantastic sponsors including Google. We couldn’t wait to welcome an incredible guest list with some of the most influential women in the industry attending, and we were going to throw the Best. Party. Ever. Then everything came crashing down, and we don’t need to tell you that it changed things drastically.

For WIGI, the silver lining was that it gave us a moment to pause and re-evaluate some of the ways we provide value to our members. Up until now, that has primarily been through in-person networking events like the planned GDC party. With a changing world comes new opportunities, and our team decided it was time to restructure and provide more value to our members.

With that in mind, we’ve been working hard, and we’re beyond excited to tell you about the changes we’ve made-- we’ll be announcing some really great partnerships, programs, and initiatives soon. Our goal is to make available the much-needed resources for women to succeed in the games industry, promote diversity and inclusion in gaming, and support increased opportunities for all careers in gaming. You’re going to love how we’re working to accomplish those goals.

Oh, but don’t worry. When in-person networking events can happen again safely, you bet we’re going to throw the best networking event you’ve ever seen.

So, thank you for sticking with us during this time. We haven’t forgotten about you, and we look forward to seeing you (virtually) soon. Stay tuned by signing up for our newsletter.
